Rose and Jerry Bowman of Cedar Springs went to see the internationally known Irish tenor singer Danny O’Donnell in Shipshewana, Indiana over the Christmas holidays.
“Danny put on a very thoughtful and long two part production of old time favorite songs and Christmas songs,” wrote Jerry. “After the end of the show Danny was very thoughtful to meet with us for a Post newspaper picture showing his warm personality with a kiss on my wife’s cheek!”
That sounds like a fun! Thank you for taking us with you!

The Post traveled all over the world this year, including the old walled city of Lucca, in the Tuscany region of Italy, where Steve and Judy Reed visited in September. Photo by J. Reed.
It was a great year for our “Post travels to” feature in 2017. The Post traveled far and wide. It traveled as close as Traverse City, and as far away as New Zealand. Other places the Post traveled included: Weidman, Mich. to see Dr. Pol; Canada, the Danube River in Hungary and Germany; Great Britain; Peru; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.; Beartooth Highway in Montana and Wyoming; the Bahamas; Beijing; Big Bay, Mich.; Branson, Missouri; California; China; Cozumel, Mexico; Disney World; the Dominican Republic; Los Angeles; Fort Myers; Hawaii; Italy; Kentucky, Ohio; Shipshewana; and Spain.
We have run out of Post travel photos, so if you have one, please send it in! (See details in other Post travels story on this page.)
Hannah, 10, and her sister Hailey, 8, pose with The POST.
The Post recently traveled with the Dempsey family, of Solon Township, to Shipshewana, Indiana.
Hannah, 10, her sister Hailey, 8, mom Kathy, and grandma Joyce Petersen stayed over night at the Blue Gate Hotel, where they swam a lot. They had fun at the petting zoo, did lots of shopping at the flea market, and enjoyed lots of good food. They waited to go on a horse and buggy ride, but the line was too long, so they went back to their hotel, and lo and behold, a carriage was parked right in front of the hotel! So the girls got their Cinderella carriage ride after all!
Thanks so much for taking us with you!
