The Algoma Township Historical Society will be holding their quarterly meeting on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Chalmers School building located on the corner of Pine Island Drive and Fonger St.
Special speaker is Marie LaPres, author of inspirational historical fiction. Erica Marie LaPres Emelander is a middle school social studies/religion teacher and lives in Grand Rapids, Mich. Erica has always enjoyed reading and writing. With her love of history and God, she has incorporated all four loves into this book. Erica has written her second novel titled The Turner Daughters. It is a delightful read following four friends in the town of Gettysburg during the Civil War.
When not working on and researching her books, Erica can be found coaching middle and high school sports, being a youth minister, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her beloved nieces and nephew.

The Annual Meeting of the Algoma Township Historical Society will be held at the Township Hall, 10531 Algoma Ave., on April 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a short meeting, including the Election of Officers. If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors, please call Julie at 866-1583 to have your named placed on the ballot.
