JV golf wins over Sparta


The Cedar Springs JV golf team opened up their season this past Monday, April 10, with a victory over Sparta, 232-233. Josh Allen shot a 57, Austin Emmorey and Jared Hause 58’s and Trey Lewis a 59. On Wednesday, April 12, the Red Hawks finished 7th at the Kenowa Hills Invite with a 216. Emmorey and Carson Svalen shot 52’s, Allen a 55, and Hause, Lewis and Dane Conley all shot 57’s.

“It was a cold, wet week,” said Coach London. “Having the boys shoot in the 50’s was a win with those conditions.”

JV golf wrapping up season


The Cedar Springs Boy’s JV Golf team finished up the OK Bronze season this past week with matches at Glenkerry (Greenville) and English Hills (FHN).

Monday the boys shot a 215 to finish in 5th. Cade O’Conner was medalists with a 50, Dylan Tanis 52, Jarred Reyers 54, and Ethan Brown 59. Wednesday the golfers finished 3rd with a 209. Tanis was medalist with 48, Reyers 51, Kevin Galloway 55 and O’Conner 55.

“The guys have played better,” said Coach London. “We have one more week to improve, so I am hoping to see some good scores.”

JV Golf team places second at Greenville

The Cedar Springs Boys’ JV Golf Team officially began their season this past week playing at Greenville in a tri-meet and starting the OK Blue season at Comstock Park. At Glenkerry in Greenville, the squad shot a 203 and finished second.

Hunter Chamberlin shot a career best 42, Aeron White 46, Logan Tackmann 57 and Kendall Vanputten 58 (Logan McGahan 63 and Ryan Bohy 65).

At Scottlake in Comstock Park, the team struggled with a score of 216.  Hunter Chamberlin had a 47, Aeron White 51, Logan Tackmann and Kendall Vanputten a 59 (Nick Moorman 60 and Will Stockreef 62).

“It is early in the season so we are struggling a little,” said Hunter Chamberlin. “As the season moves forward, I predict our scores will get better.”
