Learning local history

Cedar Springs fourth graders visited the Cedar Springs Historical Museum last week and learned about their own local history.

On Wednesday, May 28, 90 children visited from Mr. White’s and Mrs. Smith’s classes at Cedar View Elementary  School. They enjoyed listening to D.M. White and Roger Swift as they toured the students around the museum exhibits. The kids were very interested and often amazed at the information being shared with them.

“We sincerely hope to see more of our Cedar Springs students visit the museum,” said Sharon Jett, co-director at the museum.

The museum is located in Morley Park at Northland Drive and Cedar Street, and is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. They have a classic car show coming up on Saturday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 696-3335 for more information.
