Continued success for local wrestling club

Pursuit wrestling clubWest Michigan Pursuit is seeing continued success with 11 of the 17 wrestlers they traveled to Forest Hills Central with come home with medals.  Coaches Andrus and Lewis of the Cedar Springs High School wrestling team know that championship high school teams are born from strong youth teams.  Opening a year round training center targeting area youth seemed to be the logical thing to do, and Andrus and Lewis had discussed it many times over the years before it came to fruition.  Not only does it give the kids an opportunity to train during the off season, they have the added benefit of developing a working relationship with their future high school coaches long before they reach high school.  If West Michigan Pursuit continues to churn out winners the way it has so far this season, I suspect a state championship like the one the Red Hawks saw in 1994 is not too far off in the future.
