Robert “Bob” William Gillies Jr. of Cedar Springs, Michigan, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was born to Robert and Delorna Gillies on March 7, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Bob spent most of his years in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and friends, hunting, woodworking, and watching the Michigan game. Go blue! Bob adored his family. He could light up a room with his smile and there was never an awkward moment because he always knew what to say. Bob was a wonderful friend to many people. He had a warmth about him that made everyone feel comfortable, accepted, and fortunate to be around him. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa I. Gillies; loving children, Brittney (Drew) Gleason, Courtney (Justin) Beck; his sister, Laura (Marc) Foerster; and his Grandson, Ryker Gleason who was one of the biggest joys in his life. There will be a celebration of life held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Rockford Community Cabin, 220 N Monroe St, Rockford, Michigan 49341. It was Bob’s wish for everyone to celebrate together in their U of M gear. Please dress accordingly.
