Ensley crime watch race and community picnic

The annual Ensley Township crime watch race and community picnic will be held on Saturday, July 31, at Baptist Lake Park, 8810 Oak Drive, Sand Lake.

From July 2 to July 27 (the day of the race) the adult fee is $25 and does not include a t-shirt. Youth fee is $20 and does not include a shirt.

The race begins at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m.

The picnic begins at 11:30. The firemen grill hotdogs, and there will be beans, chips, cookies, homemade pies, coffee, pop and more. There will be a small fee for lunch. 

Special guests include the Sand Lake Fire Department (trucks/equipment will be available for viewing), the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office (K9 team, SWAT vehicles on site), and the Newaygo Marine Patrol and Dive team. There will also be a bounce house. 

There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes will be raffled off from local businesses.

Proceeds from the event will help the Sand Lake/Ensley Fire Department purchase rescue equipment.
