Anne Monette (Van Male) Carter; 80, of Cedar Springs MI, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on May 9th 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius (aka Pete) and Flossie (Wood) Van Male; her brother, Carrol (aka Bud) Gould and sister Dorothy (aka Doy) Gould Beals. Annie was a fascinating woman living every day on her own terms. She was a consummate gardener who never met a plant she didn’t like and had the perfect spot for! She had a penchant for painting with a talent showcasing her strong interest in the Southwest and it’s Indigenous Peoples. Her love and compassion for strays of any kind; especially cats but any four legged friends was immense only dwarfed by the love she had for her three sons, Roger (Lisa) Van Male, Shawn (Lelah) VanSplinter and Matt (Kellie) Carter. Her grand blessings, Cynthia, Bill, Ron, Blake and Kasey; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson on his way. A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Cedar Springs MI with a lunch gathering directly following. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Annie to your local animal shelter or cat rescue.
