YOLANDA LAETITIA BARTRUM

Yolanda (Yo-Yo) Laetitia Bartrum, (formerly of Sand Lake, MI), age 82, was taken home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 1, 2021, in Greenville, MI with family by her side. She was born in East Grand Rapids, MI on January 28, 1939 to the late Clifford and Senah Marie Hoskins of Cedar Springs, MI. Yolanda went to elementary thru 10th grade in Cedar Springs, MI. On December 24,1957 she was united in marriage to Henry “Hank” Harold Bartrum and later was blessed with 6 children. Yolanda was a member of Algoma Historical Society, Foxville Quilting Club, and a longtime member at Maranatha Baptist, serving with Helping Hands and 49er’s and cooking in the kitchen at the church. Her hobbies were making wedding and special occasion cakes for family and friends. She loved to crochet hats and gloves for the grandkids and knit hand warmers for the kidney dialysis patients and baby blankets for Alpha Women’s Center. She enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends and she loved to cook. Her most loved dishes by others were her lasagna, bread pudding and her yearly cabbage and corn beef dinner for her St. Patty’s day event with Quilting Club. It was important to Yolanda to keep the family connected so she started and maintained the Bartrum Family Newsletters and also did the Friendship House calendar of events. Yolanda loved taking trips with her children and dear friends. Cottage by the beach, Mackinaw Island, and Safari Wildlife Port Clinton, Ohio are a few trips she enjoyed. She participated at Clay St. Senior Center in Greenville. The Last 2 years she lived at Golden Life AFC. Yolanda made many new friends, and she was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Senah Marie Hoskins; brothers, Roger and Earl Hoskins; husband, Henry “Hank”; son, Wayne Bartrum; son-in-law, James Snyder; and grandson, Eric Krause. She is survived by her children, Veronica (Dick) Grimm of Greenville, Clifford T. (Desiree) Bartrum of Manistee, Lindalee (Gilbert) Filer of Oscoda, (Esther) Bartrum of Grand Rapids, Janet (Jay) Krause of Manistee, and Jeanette Miller of Grand Rapids; 25 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and special aunt, Jeanette; along with several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Golden Life AFC staff, Kindred Hospice, and Pedersen Funeral Home. There was a time of PUBLIC visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe Street, Rockford, MI 49341. A PRIVATE celebration of Yolanda’s life was held at 1:00 p.m. Livestreaming of Yolanda’s service was accessible under her tribute page at www.plaisierfuneral.com.
