VICTOR HAVENER

Victor Louis Havener, age 91, of Cedar Springs, MI passed away quietly of Alzheimer’s and entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 25. Victor was born October 19, 1929 in Utica, New York, the son of Paul and Minnie Havener. He lived most of his life in San Diego, California and moved to Cedar Springs, Michigan with his wife in 2016 to live with his daughter-in-law and family, Rebecca Powell. Victor was a kind, loving, gentle man and father who exemplified the life of Christ. Everyone who knew Victor will miss his kind smile and gentle spirit. Victor served proudly in the United States Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He then worked in the aerospace industry as an electronics technician, first for Aerojet in Los Angeles, then for Teledyne Ryan in San Diego. He had a lifelong passion for electronics, autos and motorcycles, and enjoyed tinkering in his garage where he could fix just about anything. Victor is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Havener; his beloved children, Michael (Joy) Havener of Alpine, CA, Theresa Schumacher of Jacksonville, OR, Cynthia (Ray) Bedsaul of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter-in-law, Lisa Havener of Port Orchard, WA; stepchildren, Michael (Kim) Bowersox of Beauford, SC, Michelle (Anthony) Iarocci of Marathon, FL; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Powell of Cedar Springs, MI. Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Brother-in-laws; David (Vicki) Parks, Doug Voller; sister-in-law, Jean Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jacqueline Havener; son, David Havener; son-in-law, John Schumacher; stepson, Norman Powell; brothers, Paul and Raymond Havener. The family wishes to thank Faith Hospice and Emerald Meadows Assisted Living Facility for their loving care and kindness during his final days. A private service at Spring Arbor Cemetery will be held in the future.
