Kent Theatre reopens with original Ghostbusters

Oct. 30-31, Nov. 1: After many months in lockdown, the Kent Theatre is again exhibiting a movie on the big screen! The Kent Theatre will be running the classic film “Ghostbusters” (1984). Showings will be held Friday, October 30 at 6 p.m., Saturday, October 31 at 2 and 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 at 2 and 6 p.m. All seats are $3. The concession stand will be open. Patrons will be required to wear a mask, and practice social distancing. Because seating is limited to 50 persons per show, you can buy your tickets in advance at Perry’s Place at 90 North Main Street, or go to the Kent Theatre Facebook page. Note: the Saturday (Oct. 31) showing at 2 p.m. has already sold out. #44

Local camp offers trunk or treat and camp activities

Oct. 31: Come join Pine Ridge Bible Camp for a late afternoon of fun for the whole family on October 31, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. The day will include free activities like trunk or treat, illusionist shows, puppet shows, wagon rides, music and other fun activities. For those that want even more fun, charged activities will include laser tag, go carting, ninja course, and archery. All ages welcome, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Payment for charged activities will be taken the day of event. Cash is preferred. Cost is $10/person for a wrist band that includes all activities except go carting. Single activity tickets can be purchased for $2 per ticket (go carting is 2 tickets). Food can be purchased for an additional fee from the snack shop. Costumes are optional, but the camp requests that costumes be wholesome and not scary or gory. Online Auction for Montcalm Heritage Village

Nov. 4-7: Montcalm Heritage Village hosts an online holiday auction beginning at noon on November 4th and ending at noon on November 7th. All proceeds benefit the village, which is located on Montcalm Community College’s Sidney Campus. Offerings include gifts, goodies, antique farm items and more. Search Montcalm Heritage Village Online Auction on Facebook to view all of the items and to participate in the auction.
