RONALD JAMES KROES

 

Ronald James Kroes, age 71, of Coker Creek, Tennessee and formerly of Howard City, Michigan went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 25, 2017 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Cobie Kroes and a sister, Marsha Foss. Ron was a member of Ironsburg Methodist Church. He was a hardworking man who loved farming and gardening. Being a history buff, Ron enjoyed reading and spent time gold panning in his beloved Coker Creek. But most of all he loved “his” beautiful Tennessee mountains. Surviving are his loving wife, Merrisue Kroes, Coker Creek Tennessee; children, Starrlynn (Craig) Britton, West Olive, Michigan, Matthew Kroes, Howard City, Michigan, Becky Feestra, Sand Lake, Michigan; grandchildren, Vennessa, Tylor, Jordan, Kyler and Sierra, great-granddaughter, Audrey; sister, Judy Kwelel, Grand Rapids, Michigan; brother, Richard (Mary) Kroes, Cedar Springs, Michigan; mother-in-law, Katherine “Jane” Verheek, Coker Creek, Tennessee; special friends, Sam and Joyce Wolfe, Jim White, Doug Dalton and Mark Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Kroes Family Cemetery with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cedar Springs Public Library, PO Box 280, Cedar Springs, Michigan, 49319 in honor of Ronald Kroes’ love of reading..
