At CTA, we have a lot to be thankful for! Our school may be small, but we have many fun and exciting things that happen every year. For the past three years, CTA Creates (a group of mothers, fathers, and grandmas) has brought art into the classroom. The amazing Mr. Holtrop has brought music, choir and drama back into our hallways as well.
CTA Creates is a group of volunteer families who love the arts and want to share that love with the students of CTA. These parents have created an art curriculum and volunteered to teach the elementary students every other Thursday this school year. At the end of the year, CTA Creates will celebrate the students’ creativity by putting on an art gallery. This year, the art gallery will be held on May 20 from 5-7:00 p.m. at CTA. Please join us on that day to view art that the students created throughout the year as they learned about different art techniques, artists and had the opportunity to use a variety of mediums.
Mr. Holtrop has brought so much to CTA and on May 3 that could not have been any more evident. The kindergarteners through second graders put on their own concert/play and sang four songs from the musical “Seussical”. We had Dr. Seuss characters galore on stage singing their hearts out! The third through fifth graders also shared their love for music by singing songs about spring. Not only did these classes sing, but the fourth and fifth graders also showed off their musical abilities with by playing the recorders. Thank you, Mr. Holtrop all of your hardwork has paid off!
