Red Flannel Ribbon Cutting

May 16: Join the Red Flannel Festival Board Saturday, May 16 at Noon for the Ribbon Cutting of our new Red Flannel Office at 18 S. Main Street! Free give aways, Free refreshments and a speech by Mayor Pro-Tem Pamela Conley! Hope to see you there! #19b

Dinner at the Legion

May 18: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a meatloaf dinner on Monday, May 18th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be mashed potatoes, baked beans, salad, veggies, rolls, drink and desserts. The cost is $9 for adults, children (15 and younger) $4.00. Come and enjoy home cooking. TOPS weight loss support group

May 19: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weigh loss goals! Weigh-ins 8:15-9am, meeting starts at 9:15am. In case of inclement weather, meetings are cancelled if Tri-County or Cedar Springs schools are closed. Call Barb at 696-8049 for more information. #19

Blood Drive at CS UMC

May 19: There will be a Michigan Blood Drive on Tuesday, May 19th at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church from 12:30 to 7 pm. Attempt to donate and you could win a $100 Meijer Gift Card! Every one who attempts to donate is very appreciated. Your donation can save up to 3 people. #19

BBQ Chicken Dinner at East Nelson UMC

May 20: East Nelson UMC, 9024-18 Mile Rd. is expanding their monthly meals to include another one on Wednesday, May 20 from 5-7 p.m. BBQ Chicken, Broccoli Apple Salad, Cole Slaw & Homemade Desserts will be on the menu. Everyone is welcome! #19

Wildflower Explosion with Kare

May 20: Join Kare, Naturalist and flower expert, for a day of planting native Michigan wildflowers. Kids can make “Flower grenades” at explode when you throw them into the fields and you’ll even get some seeds or bulbs to take home to plant in your own yard. Crossfire Church Mission Rummage Sale

May 21,22: Crossfire Church Mission Rummage Sale will be held on Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd from 9 am to 5 pm. Large selection of items including golf clubs and golf bags. Located on the southwest corner of Cornfield and Northland Drive, Cedar Springs. #19

Roast Beef Dinner

May 21: The Rockford American Legion Post 102 on the corner of Northland Dr. and Rockford Park D. 330 Rockford Park Dr. will be hosting a roast beef dinner on Sunday May 21st  and every 3rd Sunday of each month thereafter. Open to the public. We will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, coleslaw, rolls, desert, coffee and punch. Reasonably price at adults $9, kids 4 to 12 $7 and under 4 years free. Serving from 11am to 3 pm. See ya there and bring the family! #19

15th annual Memorial Cemetery Walk

May 24: The Cedar Springs Historical Society is holding its 15th annual Memorial Cemetery Walk on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00pm to honor veterans of all wars. This years veterans will be: David Richmond, War of 1812; George Russell, Civil War; Cecil Dorman, World War I; Herold Stark, World War II; Thomas L Marsh, Korea; Michael Woodhull, Vietnam. Biographical and historical information will be presented at each gravesite. The Glen Hill Post of the American Legion color guard will assist in the presentation. We will leave from the museum in Morley Park at 1:30 and return there for refreshments at the completion of the walk. In case of severe weather warnings we will cancel the event, in case of rain we will do the presentations at the museum. #19,20b

Michigan Blood Drive

May 26: A Michigan Blood Drive will be held at Solon Center Wesleyan Church (15671 Algoma Ave.) from 3 to 7 pm. Call the office at 616-696-3229 to set up an appointment and walk-ins are welcome! #19

Cedar Springs Bands Golf Scramble

May 30: Come join us for the 1st Annual Cedar Springs Bands Golf Scramble on Saturday, May 30th at Cedar Chase Golf Club. Registration at 9 am and shotgun start at 10 am. $50 per golfer, $200 per team.  Includes 18 holes with cart, lunch games and fun! Registration and payment may be dropped off at Cedar Chase Golf Club or mailed to Cedar Springs Music Boosters, PO Box 811, Cedar Springs, MI 49319. CS Rocket Cheer Camp

June 20: Cedar Springs Rocket Cheer Camp for ages K-8th grade will be Saturday, June 20th at Red Hawk Elementary School 9 am until noon. Cost will be $25. this will include their camp shirt, snacks and crafts. We will be a Shaner Ave. Ball Fields every Tuesday and Thursday in May from 6 until 7:15 pm to take signups for camp and for the Flag Cheer Season! Flag Cheer is for grades K – 2nd grade and will be held during the month of July!
