High School auditorium to be named in honor of Holton donation

In 1986, the Cedar Springs Education Foundation was created. Over the past twenty-nine years, the foundation has donated over two million dollars to forward the education and learning of the Cedar Springs Public School students. They have been a direct asset to a large variety of students, and all of their support is truly appreciated.

This past month, the auditorium in the High School was the recipient of $25,000, given by the Holton Grant (through Education Foundation). This money will go toward improving the sound system in the auditorium. It will definitely be a welcome addition to the space. The auditorium serves many purposes and is used by the school and community on a regular basis. Throughout the year you would often find band and choir concerts, banquets, meetings, plays and musicals, and even classes are held in this room. In order to recognize the wonderful donation, the auditorium will named in honor of the Holton Family.

On March 5, the Education Foundation met in the High School’s auditorium with director and teacher Justin Harnden to present the official check. New speakers and a sound system will hopefully be installed within the next couple of months. The school is very excited for these new additions, and will certainly be seen and used as often as possible. Thank you Holton family!
