Darren J. Link, a member of B Troop, 133rd Cavalry Unit, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, was recently promoted to Sergeant E5 in ceremonies at his present station of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
Sgt. Link has served one year in Korea, and one year in Afghanistan. He is scheduled to deploy back to Afghanistan in early February 2015.
Sgt. Link is a 2010 graduate of Cedar Springs High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He took his training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
Sgt. Link is the son of Michael and Tami Link, of Cedar Springs. His wife, Lindsay (Boughton) Link, is also from Cedar Springs. He has a brother, Cameron Link, a 2014 graduate of Cedar Springs High School, and a sister, Shelbi Link, a senior at Cedar Springs High School. Great-grandparents are Mark and June Doren, of Cedar Springs. Grandparents are Carmon and Wally Porter of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and Jim and Rose Hunt, and the late Marlyn (Marti) Hunt, of Cedar Springs.
