Read-to-Ride Red Flannel Day

Sept.: Calling all K-8th graders to Read-to-Ride great Carnival Rides. Read 3 or 6 hours to earn one or two FREE coupons for Elliott’s Rides during Red Flannel Days. Reading logs at cedarspringslibrary.org or at the library. Cash your log in anytime before Red Flannel Day or on Red Flannel Day between 10 am and 2 pm at the Friends of the Library giant book sale on Main Street across from the Kent Theatre. #36

Chicken BBQ and Rummage Sale

Sept. 5,6: Courtland Oakfield United Methodist Church, 10295 Myers Lake Rd., Rockford, is having their annual Chicken BBQ, Rummage and Bake Sale. The rummage and bake sale is Friday, September 5 from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday, September 6, from 9 am to 7 pm. BBQ Chicken will be available on Saturday, September 6th from 4 to 7 pm. Registration for Red Flannel Prince & Princess

Sept. 6: Attention all Cedar Springs area kindergarteners! Registration for the 2015 Prince & Princess Pageant is this Saturday, September 6th from 9 am to noon at the Red Flannel office, located at 18 S. Main St. #36


Register Now For Free Hunter Education

Sept. 9: To register for firearm Hunter Safety Classes  at the Red Flannel Rod & Gun Club, call Jim Pope at 231-834-5545 after 6 pm. Classes at the Club, 7463 18 Mile Rd. Cedar Springs, will be Tues. September 9th from 6-9 pm,  Thurs. September 11th from 6-9pm, and Sat. September 13th from 8 am-4:30 pm. Class size limited to 40 students. #35,36b

Get Hooked on Scouting

Sept. 9: Come join in the fun and adventure and get Hooked on Scouting! The boy and a parent need to be present to complete registration. We have two great Packs serving the Cedar Springs Schools. Red Flannel Day Talent Show Tryouts

Sept. 10,17: Looking for talented kids of all ages. The Red Flannel Talent Show is searching for singers, vocal groups, dancers, instrumentalists and variety acts for the Red Flannel Day Talent Show on October 4th. Come in and show us what you got. AYSO/CASSA Night at Red Hawk Stadium

Sept. 11: AYSO/CASSA Night is Thursday, September 11th at the Cedar Springs Red Hawk Stadium. JV game begins at 5 pm and Varsity at 6:45 pm. Players wearing their soccer jersey will get in free to the game. Come out and support our Cedar Springs High School Boys Soccer Team. #36

Sept. 11: Have you ever wished your drawings could come to life? Now they can! With the use of the 3Doodler, create simple 3D objects from your own imagination or use some of the provided stencils. Free Movie Night

Sept. 12: An En Gedi 5th Quarter Special Event will include an outdoor movie of the Princess Bride (PG). This is for high school students as well as all the community members on Friday, September 12 immediately following the first home football game or approximately 9 pm. Presented on the north end of the football stadium. Bad weather location is the high school auditorium. Bring a chair or blanket. Concessions (popcorn, candy, coffee and drinks) will remain open during the movie. Everyone will be admitted free after the 3rd quarter of the football game. Flat River Community Players present “On Golden Pond”

Sept. 12-20: Greenville’s Flat River Community Players present the Ernest Thompson play, “On Golden Pond,” at 7:30 pm on September 12, 13, 19 and 20 and at 2 pm on September 14, at the Greenville Area Community Center. Tickets are $13 adults and $11 students and senior citizens. West Michigan Snowmobile Museum Motorsport Swap

Sept. 13: The West Michigan Snowmobile Museum and Library will host a monthly Motorsport Swap on the 2nd Saturday of every month until Fall. Sept. 13,14: The Cedar Springs United Methodist Church is showing the movie Heaven is for Real in our fellowship hall. This movie is based on a true story. Greenville Garden Club Annual Plant Sale

Sept. 13: The Greenville Garden Club will hold their annual plant sale on Saturday, September 13 from 9 am to 2 pm. New location: Greenville Ace Hardware Parking Lot, 1325 W. Washington. Fall is a great time to plant your spring garden. Perennials, shrubs, bulbs, dried materials, garden related items and crafts will be on sale. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. Awana Kick Off Sunday and Potluck

Sept. 14: Huggard Bible Church, 8860 – 21 Mile Rd., Sand Lake will kick off their Awana program on Sunday September 14th at 9:30 am. The service will surround the kids. 10:45 Sunday School. The Commander will lead the Hour and let you know about things concerning Awana. The lunch is at 11:30 with place settings and meat provided. Bring a dish or two to pass. There will be a table set up for early registration. Awana is for 3 years old to 6th grade and starts on September 17th at 6:30 pm. #36

CSPS Class of ‘64 Reunion

Oct. 4: CSPS Class of ‘64 will hold its 50th Reunion on October 4th at the Red Flannel Rod & Gun Club. Social time will begin after the Red Flannel Parade.
