Man dies in back yard accident

An Algoma Township man died last weekend when he tree he was cutting down fell on him.

The Kent County Sheriff Department said that James Overzet, 63, was cutting down the tree in his back yard on Foxwood Drive, in Algoma Township, when it fell, killing him. Paramedics from Algoma Fire and Rescue and Rockford Ambulance tried to resuscitate him with CPR, but were not able to revive him.
