Sand Lake Christmas

Dec. 1-13: The Sand Lake Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Sand Lake Christmas Starting Sunday December 1st at Salisbury Park with a Christmas Concert and Carols by Resurrection Lutheran Preschool at 6:30 pm and Tree Lighting at 7 pm. Monday, December 2nd, “Adopt at Family” for Christmas Giving Trees in local businesses, sponsored by the Sand Lake/Nelson Township KDL, Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7 there will be an Indoor Live Nativity at Sand Lake United Methodist. December 13th will be Kick off of 12 Days of Christmas in Sand Lake. #48


Dinner at the Legion

Dec. 2: American Legion, 80 Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a meatloaf dinner on Monday, November 18th, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be mashed potatoes & gravy, veggies, salad, dessert and drinks. Special price for dinner $8, children $4.50. Enjoy home cooking. Take out is available. 616-696-9160. #48p


TOPS weight loss support group

Dec. 3: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weigh loss goals! Weigh-ins 8:15-9am, meeting starts at 9:15am. In case of inclement weather, meetings are cancelled if Tri-County or Cedar Springs schools are closed. Call Martha at 696-1039 for more information. #48


Preschoolers “Dark in the Planetarium”

Dec. 3: Learning about the stars, moon, sun and possibly snowflakes. Children will learn the sun is hot, and the snow is cold. They will be told how humankind wants to visit the moon or other planets far, far away,and we will be exploring our earth of planets, trees, and animals. Mommy’s Day Out – “You deserve a Break”

Dec. 5: Every Thursday through the Winter (Feb. 2014). Cheaper than daycare and more fun. We will make crafts (they take home), take walks, play with gentle animals, and learn of new things each week. Please bring your child’s lunch. Mom can go shopping, get your hair done, take a long nap and do not for Christmas preparation! Provision can be made for earlier or later drop off or pickup. 10 am to 3 pm. $20 per child, per day ($15 ea. for two children of the same family.) Limited to 10 children – please reserve ahead. Christmas Fund Distribution

Dec. 6: Due to the generosity of the late Evelyn Cossin, there are limited funds available to assist families in need for Christmas. The funds are available only to families living in the Cedar Springs city limits. Please send or bring letters requesting assistance to: Cedar Springs United Methodist Church, 140 S. Main St., PO Box K, Cedar Springs, MI 49319, C/O Janet Avery. All letters should include some brief summary of your need for assistance. Letters must be submitted and post marked and received NO later than, Friday, December 6th. If awarded assistance, a letter will be sent informing you of your pick up time at Cedar Springs UMC. #48


Annual Holiday Bazaar and Santa Day

Dec. 7: Old School Community Center, Annual Holiday Bazaar and Santa Day, on Saturday, December 7th, 142 N. Main St. in Casnovia. Craft show 7 am – 2 pm. All you can eat Lions Club Breakfast 7 am – 10 am. Cookie decorating for the kids. Santa visits 10 am til noon. Free horse drawn wagon rides 10 am till noon. BBQ lunch served at noon. Spencer Township Senior Christmas Potluck

Dec. 7: There will be a Senior Christmas Potluck Dinner at Spencer Township, 14960 Meddler, Gowen, on December 7 from 1 to 3 pm. Bring a dish to pass. Meat, potatoes, rolls and coffee provided. #48,49p

Dec. 14: There will be a Craft and Variety Sale on December 14th from 9 am to 5 pm at Home Town Pizza, 46 W. Lake, Sand Lake. #48,49p
