Accident sends two to hospital

Police said alcohol could be a factor in a head on collision that sent two Cedar Springs men to the hospital Thursday evening.

According to the Kent County Sheriff Department, the accident occurred in Solon Township on Thursday, October 17,  at Algoma and 18 Mile Rd, about 8:07 p.m. Jurgen Hoffman, 27, of Cedar Springs, was reportedly heading south on Algoma Avenue in a 2010 Kia Soul, when he crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix head-on. Both vehicles rolled over and injured the drivers.

Both Hoffman, and the driver of the Pontiac, Kenneth Daniels, 31, of Cedar Springs, were taken to Butterworth Hospital by Rockford Ambulance, for back pain.

The accident has been forwarded to the Kent County prosecutor’s offices for review of possible charges.
