Mrs. Frances Aleene Rentsman, age 92, of Cedar Springs, passed away Monday morning, September 2, 2013 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The daughter of Emerson & Edna (Hudle) Budd, she was born on February 23, 1921 in Sears. On November 20, 1940, in Greenville, she married Arden O. Renstman and together they enjoyed nearly 67 years of marriage and raised three children. A devoted wife and mother, Frances always put her family first and enjoyed crocheting, feeding and watching the birds, and embroidery. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arden Rentsman on September 1, 2007; two sisters, Wilma Hander and Alma Miller; and a brother, Elmer Budd. Surviving are her children, Donna & Patrick Mullin of Howard City, Ardeene & Charles Latham of Cedar Springs, and Frederick & Suzann Rentsman of Rockford; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. The Rev. Kenneth Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, officiated and burial followed at Spencer Mills Cemetery.
