The 12th annual Resolution Walk was a success this week, as 200 walkers and 25 dogs hit the trail for annual event on New Year’s Day.
The walkers assembled at the Rotary Pavilion in Rockford at 10 a.m. and were welcomed by Rockford Mayor Pro-tem Jerry Coon. They then walked to 12 Mile Road. When they returned, walkers were treated to refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the White Pine Trail.
They renamed the walk this year The Fred Meijer New Year’s Resolution Walk in honor of the late businessman and philanthropist Fred Meijer, whose funding was instrumental in paving the trail.
