No Christmas Tree pickup in city

City of Cedar Springs Public Works Director Tom Stressman alerted the Post this week that due to budget cuts, there would be no pickup of Christmas trees by the city this year.

In years past, residents have put Christmas trees at the curb and the DPW has picked them up.

A private citizen, Steve Horowitz, did pick up some of the Christmas trees around town earlier this week.

According to Stressman, the town’s new waste hauler, Everkept, will pick up the trees for a $10 fee. Or, some local businesses, such as Cannonsburg Wood Products on Northland Drive, near 12 Mile, will take the trees for free.
