Pvt. Chad Mitchel Heydenburg, 18, of Cedar Springs, graduated from USMC Boot Camp at Marine Corp Recruit Depot San Diego, on September 21, 2012.

Pvt. Heydenburg successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego, as part of the 1st Battalion, platoon 1063. While in basic training, Pvt. Heydenburg scored as a sharpshooter on the rifle range.

He is the son of Steven and Melinda Heydenburg, and a 2012 graduate of Cedar Springs High School, where he was an honor roll student.
