Bob Maxwell, of Algoma Township, caught this large mouth bass on Labor Day, September 3, in Merrill Lake, in Mecosta County. The fish put up quite a fight and broke Bob’s fishing pole. Bob’s son-in-law, Gene Finch, helped him land the fish. It weighed in at 6 pounds, and measured 23-inches long.
