Pvt. Zachary Ryan VanSetters, 18, of Cedar Springs, graduated from USMC Boot Camp at Marine Corp Recruit Depot San Diego, on August 31, 2012.

Pvt. VanSetters successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego, as one of 85 recruits in training Platoon 1027. While in basic training, Pvt. VanSetters shot a 332 out of 350 points in the rifle range, and was one of the top performers in pull-ups.

He is the son of Roxanne Maxim, and a 2012 graduate of Cedar Springs High School.
