Greenville Garden Club Plant Sale
Sept. 15: The Greenville Garden Club will host a plant sale (9 am – noon) and silent auction (12:15 – 12:45 pm) on Saturday Sept. 15th at the East Pavilion, Greenville Community Center, 900 E. Kent Rd., Greenville. There will be a wide variety of plants, shrubs, and garden items, many plants priced as low as $1. Master Gardners will be available during the sale to answer gardening questions. #37
Dinner at the Legion
Sept. 17: The American Legion, 80 S. Main St. Cedar Springs, is hosting a swiss steak dinner on Monday, Sept. 17, from 5 – 7 pm. Included will be mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans, veggies, roll, dessert and drink. All dinners are $9, children 17 and under $4. Take out is available. #37p

Fat Free Losers 50/50
Sept. 18: Tues. and Thurs., 6 – 7 pm starting Sept. 18th – Nov. 15th, 10 week session. Price $55 for both nights for 10 weeks (20 times is only $2.75 per time). Luncheon For Retirees/Seniors

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
Sept. 22: We have insect containers, nets and a bug-finding attitude! Then off we will go into the woods, prairies and more to see what 6-legged creatures live here at HCNC. We will look for eggs and larvae while learning about insects’ life cycles, find predators, prey, and catch and release a bug or two – at the end of the day we will recycle our bugs into fish food. This is a hands on day, come dressed to get dirty! Bring your lunch and backpack (K-6th). Sat. Sept. 22 from 10 am to 1 pm. Donation of $5. Scholarship available to those who cannot afford. Auditions for Christmas Musical
Oct. 1-2: The Cedar Springs Theatre Association is pleased to announce that its fourth annual Christmas production will be “Bah Humbug! Scrooge’s Christmas Carol.” Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 1 and 2 at the Kent Theatre, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Twenty-four roles are available for people between the ages of 10 and up and include such characters as Ebenezer Scrooge, the ghost Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit and his family, the ghosts of Christmas Past and Present, as well as many townspeople and street urchins. Be prepared to read from script and sing. Performances will be Dec. 6 -9 at the Kent which is located in downtown Cedar Springs.
