Mr. James G. Cullum, age 66, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012. He was a 1963 graduate of South Haven High School and received his business degree from Central Michigan University. While completing college he worked part-time at Keeler Brass. Jim was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He returned to Keeler Brass and then went to work for the US Postal Service in Rockford as a clerk, letter carrier, and eventually became the Postmaster at Gowen, Sand Lake, and other positions. Jim liked to travel, enjoyed watching sports, and was the family’s “Mr. Fix-it.” For many years he was the mainstay for the Little League. He is remembered for his dry sense of humor, his outgoing personality, his analytical views, and his need to help others. Jim is survived by his wife, the former, Jeanne Odren whom he married on June 14, 1969; his children, James Eric and Erin Cullum, and Sarah Cullum; his grandchildren who called him “Papa Jim”, Shea and Sevi; mother, Mrs. Hazel Cullum; brother, Kenneth (Kelly) Cullum; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James Cullum of South Haven and his brother, Harold Cullum.
