Barbara J. Gillette
1935 – 2012

Barbara J. Gillette nee Anderson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania passed on June 14, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and George Anderson of Saranac, Michigan and sister, Arletta Groves nee Anderson, of Greenville, Michigan. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ralph E. Gillette and her children, Merri Jo Gillette (Jude Quinn) of Evanston, Illinois; Jane Anne Gillette (Charles DeCarli) of Sacramento, CA; Joseph P. Gillette (Lisa Mihalik) of Maplewood, NJ; and Jonathan R. Gillette of Atlanta, GA, and 14 grandchildren and great-grands. Also, two brothers, Fred Anderson of Florida and Eugene Anderson of Michigan. Barbara graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She taught school many years. She retired in 2000 after 14 years as a Benefits Administrator at Kenyon and Kenyon Intellectual Property law firm in New York City. Barbara was a creative spirit who loved this earth and expressed her creativity daily. Her family and friends will attest to the dignity she brought to her struggle for life in recent months. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held June 18, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Stephens Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Johns Hopkins Hospital Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD for research for Leukemia
