Dream BIG…Read!

Summer reading program at CS Library

Join us at the Cedar Springs Public Library for our 2012 Summer Reading Program! This year’s theme is DREAM BIG…READ! We have dreamed up 20 great programs, for all ages, from 0-120, running from June 11 to July 25! We have a special program for our youngest readers, cradle to 24 months, programs for preschoolers, for tweens, for teens, six special family programs for all ages, and four programs just for adults!

You will love programs such as the one from John Ball Traveling Zoo; and how about Junior Naturalist where kids learn how to weigh birds, handle turtles, feed snakes, care for frogs? the greatest magician, Tom Plunkard, will be back, and we’re so excited about the Wolverine Skyhawks, who will have two model airplane air shows for us—one  at the Middle School, and one at July 25, at our Reading Celebration Carnival at Morley Park. The Skyhawks will be giving away an Aranca Champ model airplane (wingspan 20”) complete with flying lessons…just a few of our attractions!
We have four programs for adults, two with Cedar Springs’ own Sarah Jehnzen, who is the “Coupons & Deals Expert” for WOTV4Women’s “Live Better for Less.” Check her out on her blog: www.sarahsdeals.net. Bring your questions! Families, meet Tractor Dave!  He fixed up his old tractor and headed out across America in an effort to raise money for needy families. He will share about his trip in pictures, and said he has a few really great stories, one is miraculous. Farmer friendly!
Thanks to the many sponsors from our local community, we have a great line-up of programs and prizes. you won’t want to miss opening day, June 11, Monday, from noon to 6pm.  We have a petting zoo, a Friends Book Sale, free ice cream, free themed book bags for K-12 and we’re raffling off a new Kindle Touch eBook Reader to help raise the last $20,000 of our $50,000 Matching Grant–$1 for 1 ticket or $2 for 3.

The Library’s Summer Reading Program is a blast! Your library staff and board have dreamed a big dream, and it includes you. Program booklets are available at the Library, 43 W. Cherry Street, or online at cedarsprings.llcoop.org. See you June 11 between noon and 6pm!
