Constantine Scooros

Mr. Constantine “Con” Scooros, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 11, 2012. He graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School where he sang in the choir, played in the band, and operated the radio station for the high school.  He received his B.S. degree from Ferris State University in Vocational Education where he was a member of the concert and marching band and choir. Con worked as an engineer for WOOD-TV, and one of his duties was operating the camera on the Buck Matthews Show.  Cindy and Con were matched through a dating service that was featured on that show.  He also worked for Grand Valley State University Public Broadcasting, City Animation Video Production Company, and currently was working for Fox-17 and Cumulus Radio.  He had previously worked for ten years at Ferris State University where he provided computer support for the staff and students. He and his son, Mark, ran the audio-video system at Cedar Springs United Methodist Church. Con was a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy (Burris) whom he married on June 23, 1973; children, Timothy Scooros, Mark Scooros, Karen and Joshua Woodburn; sisters-in-law, Laura Helm, Anita (Ralph) LaFollette, Marj Scooros, Carolyn Scooros; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Con was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emily Scooros; two brothers, Anthony and Theodore, and special cousin, Steve Rousos. The service for Mr. Scooros will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Ivanov. Interment in Rockford Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church, 140 S. Main St., Cedar Springs, MI 49319 or the Humane Society of Kent County, 3077 Wilson NW, Walker, MI 49544.
