Travel on the Nile through Egypt

Mar. 12: Travel on the Nile through Egypt on March 12, 2012 for the small cost of $10 per person. The event is sponsored by the Cedar Springs Area Parks and Recreation Department and is held at the Cedar Springs High School Auditorium. This  multimedia presentation will take you through Alexandria, Cairo and to the Pyramids of Giza while also learning about the Egyptian Museum and King Tutankhamen’s exhibit to just name a few of the aspects of the presentation. Master Gardener Nancy Hoovler to Speak at The Springs FMC

Mar. 13: Kent County Master Gardener Diagnostic Team Person, Nancy Hoovler, will be speaking and answering questions regarding your plants. Open to the public. “Jazz Along the White Pine” Dinner

Mar. 16: Tri-County Jazz Band will host its third annual “Jazz Along the White Pine” dinner on Friday, March 16th. The event will showcase the band playing a wide variety of instrumental jazz styles including: swing, cool jazz, Latin, rock, big band, vocal jazz and more. Featured guests will be Todd Zamarripa, vocalist and Keven Hoisington, percussionist. Prime Rib or Fish dinner is catered by Latitude’s Roadhouse. A “grand” silent auction will also be held to benefit the Tri-County Music program. St. Patrick’s Day Craft & Treasure Hunt

Mar. 17: Ages 6-13. Follow the rainbows to a sweet treasure. We will do a simple craft that relates to St. Patrick’s Day and end the class with a treasure hunt. Who knows what sweet treat will be at the end of this hunt. Sat. March 17 from noon to 3 pm. Cost: $6/ per child (adults free with their child). Luck o’ the Irish

Mar. 17: Why do frogs like St. Patrick’s Day? Because they’re always wearing green! Be sure to wear your snazziest green apparel when you attend the library’s celebration of all things Irish. This family program will feature stories, crafts and games for all ages. Saturday, March 17 at 1:30 pm. Sand Lake KDL Branch, 88 Eighth St., Sand Lake.  #10

 

Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast

Mar. 17: The Cedar Springs Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast every third Saturday of each month thru April. Come to the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church located on the corner of Main & Church Streets on Saturday March 17, from 7 am to 11 am, for an all-you-can-eat breakfast including pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee. Adults $6.00, Seniors $5.00, Children under 12 free. Proceeds to assist sight conservation. #10

 

Inspire Your Heart with Art Day

Mar. 18: Celebrate art and the effect it can have on your heart. Art is valued and appreciated for all sorts of reasons. Look at a piece of art and ask yourself, what is it telling me? We will have an array of art to admire from natural oil prints to modern art. Sunday, March 18, 11 am – 5 pm. Cost: $4/ person, $3/ seniors, $14 family of four or more. Corned Beef and Ham Dinner

Mar. 21: The East Nelson United Methodist Church will be serving Corned Beef and ham with boiled red potatoes, carrots, cabbage and homemade desserts on Wed. March 21 from 5 to 7 pm.
