Jeffrey Kelly, of Solon Township, sent us photos of a quite a tall sunflower growing in his yard. It reached a height of 11 feet 11 inches!
Kelly said he doesn’t do anything special to get such tall flowers. “I grow the flowers as part of my garden. I keep the seeds of unusual flowers, size or color. Other than that little bit of hybridization—nothing! No fertilizer, nothing other than seeds,” he explained.
