TOPS weight loss support group

Tuesdays: Take off pounds sensibly (TOPS), a non-profit weight loss support group for men and women, meets every Tuesday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sand Lake. Your first visit is free so come check out what TOPS can do to help you reach your weight loss goals! Exercise 8-8:30am (optional), weigh-ins from 8:30am – 9am and the meeting starts at 9:15am. Rocket Football sign ups
Now: Rocket Football sign ups being accepted now for ages 8-14 as well as middle school football. $50 registration fee per child includes game pants and jersey. Seniors – come Beat the Heat at Metron
Now-July 29: Metron of Cedar Springs located at 400 Jeffery would like to invite all Seniors in the community to “Beat the Heat” with us now-July 29 from 2-3pm each day. During this time you will receive ice cream courtesy of Metron. There will also be plenty of air conditioning to go around! #30

The Cedar Springs Museum annual summer car show
July 30: Bring the family and join the fun this Saturday, July 30 at Morley Park in Cedar Springs. The special guest this year is Mike Schragg from Marshall, Michigan with a restored 1931 mail truck from their postal museum. A food wagon will be on site. The show is from 8am to 2pm with trophies awarded around 1pm. #30

VBS at Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist
Aug. 1-5: Please join us for Vacation Bible School at Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church located at 10295 Myers Lake Ave., Rockford. This year’s theme will be Jesus’ Healing Touch. Program runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm nightly and is geared toward children 4 years old through 6th grade. Pre-registration is not required. Call for more info at 616-866-4298. #30

Dinners at the Legion
Aug. 1 & 15: The American Legion, 80 Main St., Cedar Springs, is serving Swiss steak dinner on Monday, August 1 from 5-7pm and baked chicken dinner on August 15 from 5-7pm. Swiss steak dinner includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, baked beans, veggies, rolls, dessert and drink. Baked chicken dinner includes baked chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, rolls, dessert and drink. All dinners are $8.00 adults and $4.00 children. Take out available. #30

Cedar Springs Youth Football Camp
Aug. 6: Cost is $35 per child and includes T-shirt and snack. Camp is from 8am – 12pm and is open to all boys and girls ages 8-14. Camp will be run by Cedar Springs high school players and coaches.
