Grindle family donates tree

Post photo by J. Reed

This tree at the corner of Ash and Main Streets may look plain right now, but come Friday evening, it will be alive with the color and the joy of Christmas.
The family of Joshua James Grindle, 1982-2009, donated this tree to the City of Cedar Springs in honor of his memory, so that it can be used for the annual tree lighting during the Mingle with Kris Kringle event Friday evening.
They donated it with this note in his memory:
“You planted this tree when you were just a boy, it has brought us peace and a lot of joy. Now we donate it in your name, not having you here will never be the same.”
We hope the Grindle family can experience some of the cheer of Christmas when they see how much joy this tree, planted by their loved one, brings to the residents of Cedar Springs!
For details on the Mingle with Kris Kringle event, see the ad on page 10.
