First big snow of season

First big snow of season

These kids didn’t waste any time getting out in the snow and having some fun Wednesday.

We had our first big snow of the season Wednesday when lake effect snow showers put us under a snow advisory and caused a lot of slippery roads and accidents, especially on the rural roads and highways. According to WOODTV 8 meteorologist Bill Steffen, the cold will stick around and so will the lake effect snow showers for the next couple of weeks.
We had a warm November, with an average temperature of 51 degrees and 40 percent sunshine. Steffen expects that December will be a little colder than average, with slightly higher than average snowfall.
