For the first time in many months, gas prices shot up over $3.00 a gallon last weekend.
Here in Cedar Springs, gas prices got as high as $3.08. The Mobil gas station at 14 Mile and Edgerton was reported as high as $3.19, according to gasbuddy.com.
The rise was reportedly attributed to a small fire at an oil refinery in the Chicago area, the Federal Reserve driving down the dollar by injecting $600 billion into the economy, and a shrinking oil supply.
As of Wednesday, November 10, prices had dropped in Cedar Springs to $2.98.
