Ob-gyn services coming to White Pines Family Medicine

The White Pines Family Medicine office in Cedar Springs will soon broaden its patient care services with the addition of Dr. Kelly Wiersema, MD, Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN). Dr. Wiersema will be providing obstetrical and gynecological services on Tuesdays, beginning in November, alongside full-time family medicine providers, Jeff Williamson, D.O., Tom Cox, PA-C, Rebecca Hull, PA-C, Matt Larsen, PA-C, and Alissa Matthews, PA-C.

“I love connecting with my patients and relating to them as women,” said Dr. Wiersema. “I enjoy the variety of care that my specialty allows me to provide, from OB care and delivery to gynecological surgeries.”

Dr. Wiersema provides care for women of all ages during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum, as well medical and surgical care for a wide variety of women’s health concerns. She is currently a full-time obstetrician/gynecologist at Spectrum Health’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Office in Greenville where she has been employed for over a year. Dr. Wiersema performs deliveries and gynecological surgeries and procedures at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She has extensive experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques and has a special interest in providing more office based procedures.

“We are excited that Dr. Wiersema has the opportunity to see patients in Cedar Springs,” said Brian Brasser, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Spectrum Health United Memorial. “At Spectrum Health, we strive to make our services as accessible as possible.  We know that transportation can be a barrier to some of our patients, and establishing a presence in the Cedar Springs community is one way we are able to make our exceptional healthcare services more accessible.”

Dr. Wiersema is board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology. She completed an OB/GYN residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education and Research Center through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and she received her medical degree from Wayne State University.

Dr. Wiersema resides in Rockford with her husband and their two young children. Her hobbies include golfing, reading, and cooking.
