Dear Friends and Neighbors,

George is 93 and I am going to be 91 this weekend, October 12, and we have a few things that we would like to say.

We have lived here on Meyers Lake Avenue for 52 years and we believe that living here has contributed to our long lives. We were welcomed so warmly in the area, both in the neighborhood and by the Cedar Springs Public Schools from where our three children were all graduated.

George worked in Grand Rapids and I thought in the Grand Rapids Public Schools for 26 years. I have only good memories of my years there. I wish to say “Hi” to any of my former pupils and their parents, especially from Vandenburg, Morris Primary and Henry Schools along with Coit and other schools where I went as a reading teacher. I would also like to say “Hi” to those students from Caledonia Public Schools, Newaygo County, and Mecosta Rural Schools where I was also privileged to teach.

We had planned to have an open house but since that is not possible, we would like to say to you all while we are still in very good health and enjoying life, thanks for all the memories. Thanks for all of the wedding and open houses that we have attended. Thanks for all the horse back rides with friends and with the Michigan Trail Riders that we have enjoyed. Thanks for all of the many, many dances that we attended-both round and square and, most of all, thanks to everyone at St. Mary’s Church in Sand Lake for all of the support that they have given to us all of these years.

George and Della Michaels

PS: George and I have been married for 68 years and he is still my hero.
