Over $30,000 in damage was done to a Greenville church last month.

The Greenville Department of Public Safety announced last Wednesday, Sept. 29, that they have arrested a juvenile in the burglary incidents which occurred in Greenville on September 16 involving St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Free Wheeler Bike Shop and the VFW.

They reported that the Montcalm County Prosecutor issued a six count felony warrant in these cases and a juvenile petition is pending.

Over $30,000 in damage was done to the church during the break-in, and approximately $2,000 in religious and other items were stolen.

Police said that extensive damage was done to the sanctuary, food pantry, freezer, computer, copy machine and several fire extinguishers were sprayed inside the facility. Property taken included holy oil, wine, crosses and other religious items.
