Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding will holds its 4th Annual Horse’n’ Around Hoedown on Saturday, October 2.
The annual fundraiser will feature calf roping, a mechanical bull, silent and live auctions, games of chance, music and a cowboy chic dinner onsite at the center, 3777 Rector Road in Rockford. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best cowboy and cowgirl outfits for the event, which raises funds to provide opportunities for special needs children and adults to enjoy therapeutic horseback riding at Equest’s 35-acre facility.
The hoedown, which runs from 6:00-10:30 p.m., also features riding demonstrations from Equest participants, who range in age from 3 to 90. Horseback riding is recognized as one of the more progressive forms of therapy, combining instruction in traditional horsemanship skills with physical, occupational and social/emotional therapies.
Tickets for the event are $75 per person and may be purchased at the event or by calling 616-866-3066. Corporate sponsorships are available.
