Mrs. Rosemary Mann, age 72, of Cedar Springs, formerly of Charlevoix, passed away on Sunday, September 12th, at Metron of Cedar Springs, following a brave and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Growing up in Charlevoix, Rosemary was active in 4-H, graduated from high school, and volunteered as a Candy Striper at Charlevoix Hospital. After her marriage to husband, Philip, she became a stay-at-home wife and eventually mother of four sons. Rosemary and Philip enjoyed motorcycles and traveling to races where she was very good at racing her own Yamaha in the women’s class. Together they traveled in their motor-home to races, to visit family members, and to see the country. Rosemary was creative in home decorating and crafts, and owned Rose Mann Upholstery in Cedar Springs for many years. She was also a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader. Rosemary was a speed reader whose interests included Michigan History, family history, and geology. She will be remembered as an encourager to her family, for her “stick-to-your-ribs” soups, the very best apple pie, and homemade cookies that were cherished by all. Rosemary is survived by her husband, Philip W. Mann, Jr., sons, Philip (Debra) Mann of Rockford, Michael (Leslie) Mann, Keith (Linda) Mann, and Richard (Sarah) Mann, all of Cedar Springs; several grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many friends including her faithful friend, Dolly Tillitson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Charlotte Schoals, and brothers, Warren Richard Schoals and Stanley Schoals. Honoring her request cremation has taken place. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Multiple Sclerosis Research Fund at 21311 Civic Center Dr., Southfield, MI 48076.
