Jack A. Elder, 73 of Sand Lake, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Metron of Cedar Springs. Jack was born March 3, 1937 in Cedar Springs, MI the son of Cecil and Virginia (Hanna) Elder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are 2 sons, Terry Elder of Pierson, Lester (Cindy) Elder of Cedar Springs; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; mother, Virginia Fisher of Sand Lake; sister, Judy (Dan) Sturgeon; brothers, Jerry (Darlene) Elder, Ralph (Deb) Elder; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, 2 daughters and 1 son. The family received friends Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com where services will be held Thursday 11:00 am. Pastor Doug DiBell officiating. Interment Solon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
