The search for a 30-year-old missing man with medical problems had a happy ending Tuesday when three fishermen spotted him walking along the road.
Aaron Robert-Francis Tripp was last seen at his home on Saturday, August 7, near Red Pine Drive and 20 Mile in Tyrone Township. On Monday, August 9, the Kent County Sheriff Department did an extensive search for him in the Rogue River State Game area. They found his car unoccupied near Red Pine Drive and 18 Mile but did not locate the man. Also involved in the search was the marine patrol, the mounted division, Michigan State Police K-9s, RACES, Kent City Rescue, Rockford Ambulance, and a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter. The search was suspended at 3 a.m. due to heavy fog.
At 6:47 a.m., Tuesday, three fishermen called 911 to report they had located a disoriented man walking along N. Division near 18 Mile Road. When medical and law enforcement personnel arrived, they confirmed that it was Aaron Tripp.
Police said the man was transported to Butterworth Hospital for treatment of dehydration and other health problems.
