Alexa Thompson, age 8-1/2, of Cedar Springs, is an animal lover and wants to grow up to be an animal rescuer. She recently helped a turtle out of the heat and found a shady swamp area. According to her mom, Alexa helps a couple of turtles a year from their yard make it to the swamp behind their Prairie Run subdivision.
