Lois Blocher

Lois Blocher (Cedar Springs)  age 65  went home to be with her Lord and Savior on  May 15 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Lois grew up in Grandville and worked in Kalamazoo.  She was a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a bachelors degree and Michigan State University with a Masters in Rehab Counseling. Lois was employed by the State of Michigan for 25 years in Social work.  She was business Woman of the Year in Kalamazoo in 1995.  Lois was known for her sense of humor and willingness to help others.  Surviving are her father LaVern Blocher of Cedar Springs; sisters Kathy (John) Plume of Rockford, Elizabeth Gitchel of Howard City; a brother LaVern (Shelley) Blocher of Pentawater; 13 Nieces and nephews and 33 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Depew Blocher and her twin sister Lucy Blocher. Funeral Services took place on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at The Pierson Bible Church  with Pastor Tom Sluys officiating with burial in the Reynolds Cemetery.  Friends met at the Heckman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
