Matthew Carlin’s one-act play, Dracula’s boarding house, is coming to the Kent Theatre on May 27.
This family-friendly comedy is directed by Cedar Springs High School senior Lindsey Magoon and produced by Justin Harnden, Cedar Springs High School’s drama teacher.
When Lou Lawson (Tim Mol), receives the news that his long-lost Uncle George passed away, he is surprised to hear that he has inherited a huge mansion. Upon telling his best friend, Casey Stigler (Mackenzie Knapp) of the news, it is decided that they will turn the house into a boarding house and make a lot of money. However, when they arrive at the mansion, they are met by Dracula (Joe McKnight), his servant, Renfield (Mandi Moore), his three wives, Lydia (Mel Loudon), Elena (Nicole Clark), and Shy (Taylor Denslow) and his hopeful new bride, Allison (Veronica Rouse). Trouble ensues for the two friends. Will they discover who they’re dealing with before they are dealt with themselves? Will they make it out alive?
The performance will Thursday, May 27, at 7 p.m. at the Kent Theatre and will be about 40 minutes long. Tickets are $4.00 at the door. Come on out for a night of laughs and suspense with the cast and crew of Dracula’s boarding house!
