James R. Lund

Mr. James R. Lund, age 68, of Cedar Springs, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010. He attended Catholic Central High School in Muskegon and worked various jobs in the area including George K. Herman Chevrolet-Buick in Ravenna.  After meeting Colette Herman and falling in love, James and Colette were married on March 18, 1961 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna.  Farming was always in his heart. He, Colette, and their children worked the family farm by raising cattle, sheep, hogs, and crops; and he was about to retire from Federal-Mogul where he worked for many years. James was an auctioneer and would call auctions for livestock, poultry, and flea market items. He was devoted to his family and very proud of his heritage. His wife, Colette (Herman) Lund who was the love of his life, his son, Thomas Lund, and his mother, Olga Lund preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Lise Larsen, Julie (Lund) VandenAkker and Tim Wahoski, James and Renee Lund, Jr., John Lund, Melissa (Lund) and Scott Case; 13 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; his father, Robert Lund, sister and brothers, Ann (Lund) and Randy Jacob, Barbara Lund, Charles and Nancy Lund; niece, Jennifer Lund and nephew, Bob Lund. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Lund will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Queen of the Apostle with Rev. Joseph W. Kenshol presiding. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Rosary was prayed at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Right to Life of Michigan, Wyoming 49509. Relatives and friends met  with the family at the Pederson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
