Clarence “Bob” Sommer

Clarence “Bob” Sommer, 75 of Cedar Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. Bob was born December 16, 1934 in Bellaire, Ohio the son of Clarence and Elnora (Saiter) Sommer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 59 and worked in construction all of his life. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Linda (Hawkins); 3 children, Robert Sommer of Carson City, NV, Charles (Joelene) Sommer of Cedar Springs, Janet (Andrew) Abare of Washington Court House, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Charlene, Ethan, and Hannah Sommer, Isaac and Deborah Abare; 2 sisters, Elnora Pettit-Conover and Dorothy (Chuck) Rastetter. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs, www.blisswitterspike.com The funeral service will be held Sunday 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Cedar Springs. Pastor Jim Howard officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Cedar Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Ridge Bible Camp, 8415 – 17 Mile Road, Cedar Springs, MI 49319.
