It’s been a year since they started construction on a 2,800-foot addition, but it won’t be long, and the Cedar Springs Historical Museum will have a lot more room to display their treasures. “It has been a long process,” said Tanya Eldred, of the Cedar Springs Historical Society.
Eldred said that carpeting will be arriving any day, and once that’s down, they can begin to move items. They will bring out more items from storage to show, possibly leaving the genealogy and military area in the old part of the building.
Eldred said that many artifacts would be set up along the sides of the building, leaving the middle open for meetings, and for setting up more hands-on activities for kids. “We hope to set up a Native American exhibit with a long house where they can go inside,” she explained.
Eldred said they hoped to be finished moving by spring.
